Dave Tynan is leading the Fitness Adventure Travel trips to Costa Rica. He is one hilarious fellow. He has a colourful past as a fitness model and part-time chef of healthy food.
Most of all, he does not take himself too seriously and will bring joy and positive energy to every group he leads. Dave has travelled much of South America and feels right at home in the rain forest of Costa Rica.
Dave was driven towards natural movements from a very young age. Due to being physically small as a teenager, he was quite self-conscious. As a result, he was determined to get strong. He would continually train with his older brothers. His brother, Robert, trained Dave to understand the movements that suited his body type. In any case, Dave was naturally drawn to body-weight and yoga movements and he began to study Somatic Movement Education (SME). SME is an effective way to release and re-calibrate tight muscles. This retrains the nervous system and re-patterns the Soma (Body-Mind relationship). SME unites modern neuroscience and ancient yoga wisdom.
We have tailored the Costa Rica itinerary so that you can experience being at one with your surroundings and let positive energy in. Dave will go though the SME movement training with you. As far as the surf lessons are concerned, he feel that these are less about learning to surf and more about letting go of your inhibitions.
All in all, Costa Rica is a wonderful place, packed with flora, fauna and hidden gems at every step. Dave is excited for the his group to get a bird’s eye view of this magnificent land. With this adventure you will feel your shoulders exhale in awe and relief.
Over the past decade, Robert has developed essential leadership skills and a wide range of motivational strategies, and has worked with a broad spectrum of clients on five continents.
Fitness and personal training has played a pivotal role in his professional and personal development. Born in Ireland, he has qualified under both the UK and US systems; he holds an NCEHS in advanced training, the gold standard of the American College of Sports Medicine, as well as a BSc, HND in physiology, sports science, exercise and health studies from the University of Bedfordshire.
Robert’s passion for fitness is equally matched by his love of travel and unique, bespoke experiences. Rob honed his skills working in the cruise and tour operator industry, and it is from these experiences that the idea for Fitness Adventure Travel was born.
